Are you passionate about energy efficiency and CO₂ reduction? Do you want to make a real difference in the green transition? We are looking for a dedicated Energy Engineer for our malting plant in Vordingborg.
About the Role
As an Energy Engineer, you will be responsible for continuously optimizing and streamlining our energy supply setup while ensuring compliance with energy legislation, CO₂ quota regulations, and ISO 50001. You will play a key role in shaping the energy supply strategy for the Danish malting plant and across the Viking Malt Group.
Your Responsibilities
Compliance & Standards
Ensure compliance with ISO 50001 and EU regulations on energy and CO₂
Act as the ISO 50001 expert across the Viking Malt Group
Lead CO₂ quota reporting and audits in Denmark
Monitor new regulatory requirements and translate them into concrete actions
Project Management, Operations & Technical Advisory
Drive energy optimization projects, including initiatives involving wood chips and other energy sources
Prepare technical specifications, manage tenders, and lead CAPEX projects
Advise operations, maintenance, and management teams on energy solutions
Participate in the plant’s on-call duty rotation
Strategic Collaboration
Analyze energy consumption and identify improvement opportunities locally and across the group
Contribute to energy renovations and green initiatives
Support our Swedish site in Halmstad and collaborate across the Viking Malt Group
Manage the Business Continuity Plan and emergency planning in Vordingborg
Job requirements
Your Profile
You are analytical and solution-oriented, thriving on turning complex data into tangible improvements. You work in a structured manner and have a keen eye for detail—especially when it comes to compliance and documentation. With your innovative mindset, you identify opportunities for green transition and think holistically—both locally and strategically.
You communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with colleagues, management, and external partners. You take responsibility, work independently, and maintain an overview—even in high-paced environments. Your resilience and decisiveness make you a valuable sparring partner in both daily operations and emergency situations.
Technical Qualifications
Degree in engineering (BSc or MSc) within energy, environment, or a related technical field
Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role
In-depth knowledge of energy legislation, ISO 50001, and CO₂ reduction strategies
Experience with project management and technical documentation
Fluent in Danish and English – Swedish is an advantage
